My husband and I prioritized date night every week My husband and I prioritized date night every week this year. We took turns planning it, and tried to do something new, whether we went to a new restaurant, went to a concert, or explored a part of town we’ve never been to.

Weekly date nights help us continue to nurture our relationship and spend quality time together.

I can’t wait to keep this up in 2024! There are already a lot of ideas in my head now that we live in a new area!

It was so fun to go back and explore…we walked over 12 miles the first day.

I loved all the history, food, and how lively the city was.

I already can’t wait to go back someday.

Pienza was one of my favorites!

It is such a charming town with picturesque views, unique shops, and cute plazas to sit and enjoy an espresso or a meal.

I just loved the character of this beautiful town ❤️

Visiting and touring the @mascagni_organicfarm was Visiting and touring the @mascagni_organicfarm was a highlight of my time in Tuscany! I learned so much about olive cultivation, how olive oil is made, and how to understand olive oil quality. Here are a few takeaways:
- Olive oil needs to be in dark glass to preserve the quality. Olive oil in plastic or clear containers goes rancid more quickly.
- Extra virgin olive oil used all fresh olives, virgin olive oil also uses some older olives, and olive oil that isn’t labeled as extra virgin or virgin is usually a second press with chemicals.
- The best oil is made with 60% green olives and 40% black olives, but big businesses often harvest later with more black olives which produces higher yields but much less antioxidants and flavor.
- When shopping for olive oil, try and find single origin virgin olive oil that’s pressed in the same country it is grown.
- Color of olive oil is not correlated with quality. Different trees produce different color oil.
- Strong smell does indicate quality. Three important smells - cut grass, tomato and arugula.
- Unfiltered oil has a shorter life than filtered oil.
- A good extra virgin olive oil leaves the mouth feeling clean.

I hope you learned something by reading this!

It was so fun exploring the Mount Wilson Observato It was so fun exploring the Mount Wilson Observatory!

It is home to two historically important telescopes and has amazing views of LA from 5,700 feet of elevation!

The drive up through the Angeles National Forest was beautiful, and there were tons of lookout points and hiking trails along the way.

I highly recommend checking it out if you are looking for a fun date or activity with friends or family!
